Yet another late night post, but it is a post none the less (for anyone keeping track, I have been sucessful so far in my August personal challenge of posting every day!)
As the school year approaches we feel sadness for the end of summer. Fear not fellow Northern-Hemisphereians there are some great ways to beat those blues away and enjoy what time you have left!
1. Have a fire
Nothing says summer like a fire, roasting marshmallows and hanging out with your buds. Just because it’s cooling off doesn’t mean you can’t have a fire, in fact it is even more reason to have one!
2. Indulge in the back to school sales
Even stores that are not aimed at kids tend to have these sales. Buy yourself something nice with lots of summery colors. Ever better, hit up the sales racks that are loaded with summer apparel. You will definitely find some great deals!
3. BBQ
Similar to having a fire, there is just something amazing about BBQs. I think that most would say that the taste of summer is a good BBQ’d piece of meat.
4. Get a Slurpee on your lunch break
During lunch, take a break from the office and make a quick stop at the closest 7/11 for a slurpee. If you do work in an office setting, you may want to stick to the Sprite or Coke kind of flavours however so your mouth isn’t bright blue when you pass the president of your division in the hallway!
5. Go for a bike ride
As this summer has been so hot, it has been almost unpleasant to bike ride. Now that it is a bit cooler, grab that two wheeler (or unicycle if that is more your thing) and hit the paths! It’s a great way to get to know your city, get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
One thing I enjoy doing to make the most of the weather is to go on a nice evening stroll and get some ice cream or gelato. I enjoy seeing people out and about enjoying the weather!
Can’t forget about patios either, I take every chance I can to be on a patio somewhere before the big chill returns!
