August Empties (Part 1)

Holy moly do I ever have a lot of empties this month! I am dividing the products into categories to not make a giant post. This evening’s post will be makeup empties.

1. Garnier BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector
Part of Project 10 Pan, this item was too dark for my liking for my under eye area. I have been using it to contour instead. To be honest I am not on the contour bandwagon so this felt kind of pointless, just a way to use up a product that I didn’t want to throw away half full. I am happy to be done this product and to clear the space in my makeup collection. I will not be repurchasing this product.

2. L’Oreal Infallible 18hr Advance Never Fail Makeup in 605 Nude Beige
I love this foundation. The container has a pump, making it easy to use. The finish, the duration, the colour and coverage are all wonderful. I think that this is my new favourite. The downside is that the only infallible foundation that I can find now is the new matte finish in the squeeze container. I may end up trying it but I would prefer to keep using this.

3. Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer
This took years for me to use! I know that some people swear by primer but I feel that it does nothing for me. It felt like an extra step for the same end product.

4. L’Oreal True Match in n3 Natural Buff
I enjoy the formulation of this foundation however their vast collection of colours seem to have skipped my colour. I combine n2 and n3 together to get a more accurate tone. I really enjoyed this foundation until I tried the infallible foundation. I didn’t reach for this foundation again until I had used up the infallible.

5. Voluminous Power 24H Mascara
I took a chance trying something other than my go-to CoverGirl mascara when I bought this. I was even hesitant to open it and risk disappointment. When I finally opened it I was quite happy with the product. It was not clumpy, it was easy to apply, didn’t transfer to my lid and lasted all day. I still prefer the CoverGirl mascara but would buy this again if that was not available.

6. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser
This concealer is a dream. I had seen maybe rave reviews while browsing YouTube. I was still skeptical because of the application of this concealer. I was worried about the germs being accumulated in the built in sponge top. I am glad that I bought it regardless. It is a staple in my makeup routine. Although I have other concealers to use up, I will without a doubt be repurchasing this.

7. Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner
I was hopeful for an easy to apply, fine tip felt eyeliner. The first few days were great but after that the line began to fade and become inconsistent. I forced myself to use it until I had to go over it with a gel liner. The purpose was for it to make my routine quicker, not add time to it. I won’t be repurchasing this eyeliner probably ever… Looks like the gel liner is my go-to.

8. EOS tangerine lip balm
Oh did I ever enjoy this flavour! I kept it in my car so that I could use it on my way to & from work. I went through it quicker than any lip balm I have had. The downside is that it comes in a box set, not individually and I wasn’t the biggest fan of the other flavours. If it were ever sold individually I would definitely get it again. In the mean time I will use up the other 5 EOS lip balms that I have!

9. Garnier Dark Circle Rollerball
I used to love this product… That was until I tried various Maybelline products. I do like the active ingredient of caffeine that comes in this rollerball, however the colour is not what I want. On a day when my eyes were very puffy I would put this on under a brighter concealer to help with the puffiness but it would often look cakey. I don’t think that I will be buying this anymore. Also, it is part of Project 10 Pan so that’s awesome too 🙂

10. Rimmel Provocalips
This is not an empty, I confess. You may remember a recent blog that shared my opinion about this lip product. If not, you can read it here. I won’t be repurchasing this or trying other colours from the same line.

Ok! That is all for my makeup empties. Not too bad for a month!
