Last night I decided to put a movie on while doing some stuff around the house. I saw that there was a new movie on Netflix starring Julianne Moore. The title sounded familiar so I gave it a watch.
Am I ever glad that I did. Still Alice is a film the depicts the journey of someone diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. This was the first time that I felt like I had some understanding of what it would be like to be struggling with this horrendous disease. To start forgetting simple things, then things that you are aware that you should know… it escalates to not being able to remember meeting someone or recognizing your family.
I highly suggest this film to anyone who enjoys movies. Although it is a tough subject, there are many heart-felt, humorous and touching moments. It is a wonderful movie that is relatable and makes you grateful for the precious memories that we have.
If you are easily emotional during movies, maybe plan to watch it with someone. It is good to watch alone as well so that there are no distractions.
If you have watched this movie already or watch it because of this suggestion, please let me know what you thought of the film.
