Days like these are the most beautiful. The trees are full of autumnal colours, the stars are out before I go to bed and all my favourite foods are in season. This is the time of year that I love the most. I love the pumpkin and spice flavours, the copious amouts of tea, soup and stews for the eating. I absolutely love it!
While on this high of happiness with the setting that September brings, I will do my best to pinpoint some favourites.
Netflix – I cannot pinpoint one particular show… there is just so much to watch this month! So many shows have new seasons that were just posted such as the Walking Dead and Grey’s Anatomy. There are also new additions that I cannot wait to get into like Gotham and How to Get Away with Murder. Netflix, thank you for making me feel like I will never need to get cable.
David’s Tea Pumpkin Chai Loose Tea – I know that I am not alone in my love for this tea. If you have not tried it yet, get yourself to the closest David’s Tea and get yourself some! Do not waste another moment!
Canadian Federal Election – This may seem strange to be in a favourites post so let me explain: times like these are when the country starts to pay attention to what is going on politically. They are asking questions, building opinions and hopefully voting. I have no idea what the outcome of this election will be, nor have I even decided who I will be voting for, but this is a time of awareness and potentially a time of change.
Pearl River – If you live in Edmonton, I highly suggest eating here the next time you are craving some North American style Chinese food. It is just north of the Whitemud on 99th Street. It. Is. AMAZING! If you do go, I recommend not even opening your menu. Go with a group of people and ask them to feed you and to include the peaches & shrimp. You will not regret it! Every dish is wonderful. They have lazy suzans on the large tables which makes it great for sharing all the dishes that come your way. Simply give it a spin and you won’t need to pass a thing!
Mindy Kaling’s If Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? – I thorougly enjoyed this book. There is even a blog post that I wrote all about it if you care to check it out. A friend has leant me Amy Poehler’s book which I am looking forward to reading next.
Happy Planet’s Thai Coconut Soup – This is a treat when I get myself every once in a while. I have seen it available at most grocery stores. It is great on its own or loaded with crackers. There is no dairy so it doesn’t bother my stomach in the slightest.
Tim Horton’s Apple Pie Fritter Donut – Take an apple pie and wrap it in a cinnamon bun; that is what this donut is. Their site says that it is for a limited time only, so you better hurry if you haven’t tried this amazing treat. I get one with any oppurtunity I have.
Ok, so a lot of my favourites are food related. I do have a bit of a love for yummy things! I want to know what your favourites are. If you are a blog, please leave me a link below; if not feel free to tell me about them in the comments!
Cheers to September, and here is to a wonderful October!
