Today’s personal challenge topic is how I have changed in the past 2 years… October 2013… Wow has a lot ever happened!
For one, I was in my final semester on campus at University. I was taking some courses that I really enjoyed: history of technologies, psychology of decision making, conducting… It was always exciting to go and learn. The course work on the other hand was very stressful. Midterms were upon us and that didn’t make anything easier!
I would have also been in the midst of preparing my costume for the Halloween party that my boyfriend-at-the-time was throwing. That was my first real house party… I still haven’t gone to many now that I think about it.
I was living with my parents, not needing to worry about much financially. I also was working part time at the company that I am still with, but in a more entry level position.
Now I am out on my own, single, doing an online class, working at a job that I find incredibly exciting and am happy that I have knocked some things off my bucket list.
If you would have told me two years ago that I would be blogging on a daily basis, I am not sure that I would have understood the concept. I was pretty caught up in trying to please everyone else and not focused on doing what made myself happy. I wanted to be in my professors good graces, I wanted my boyfriend’s friends to like me and more importantly I wanted to live up to my parents expectations.
Life will do that to you… give you different perspectives, different goals, adapt relationships… sometimes you do not even realize that it is happening until you stop and look back on a year or two ago.
I am happy to have had all the experiences that I have under my belt, especially these past two years. Although a lot of the people in my life have changed, I cannot really say anything bad about anyone. The time that they had in my life left a positive mark, and I hope that I was able to do the same for them.
What for you has been the biggest change in your life in the past two years?
