Last night I was delighted to see a pre-screening of Mockingjay Part 2. Contiki, a travel company who I just happen to have traveled to Europe with, we’re giving away tickets on social media. I was one of the lucky ones who snagged a pair.

Now, getting into this movie! This is the fourth and final movie of the series based on Suzanne Collins Hunger Games trilogy. Let me tell you guys that I have read the books and I have seen the other movies. Of the four films this one was my favourite.

I do not want to give away any of the plot details, but the character of Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence) is so complex. With most films you can predict what the character will do but not so much with her. You can tell that she has internal turmoil over decisions that she has to make, but the audience is kept in the dark until her actions are displayed. That is not something that you see often in movies and I really liked that about her.

This film is packed with action. I am pretty sure that there are more explosions than any James Bond movie that I have seen. So ladies, if you want to take your boyfriends to watch it, they can check out Jennifer Lawrence while watching things blow up. That should get them there.

I had heard that Jennifer Lawrence was inspired by her character when it came to voicing her dismay on the wage gap between genders. After 4 films in this role, it may be a bit of an adjustment for her to not come back to it.
