September Empties

Helloooo heaping pile of empties! Welcome to another month’s empties post.

This month continues to surprise me with the number of things I have finished up. The less that I buy the more I empty! I know that at some point I could potentially run out of items but I am sure that I will not be able to resist shopping until then.

To start things off, I would love to share with you what I burned up this past month:

  • Bath & Body Works 3 wick candle in Coconut Leaves

I enjoyed this candle. I have never been anywhere tropical but I hope that it would smell like this candle. It did not burn as well as other Bath & Body Works candles that I have used but I have seen a heck of a lot worse.

  • Bath & Body Works miniature candle in Island Waters

This little mighty candle paired nicely with the Coconut Leaves candle. Because of it’s small size it did not last very long. It burned nicely and maybe will be a repurchase.

  • Banana Republic’s Island Grove Candle

The scent as subtle but pleasant. The candle was not overly noticeable and flooded itself on numerous occasions. I think that Banana Republic should probably stick with clothing, they do a good job at that.

  • Fragrant Candle in Mulled Spice Sugar

I loved the scent of this candle, especially this time of year. It did not burn very consistently but the aroma was wonderful. I hope to find some other candles in a similar scent soon.

I did have a large stash of candles but I have worked myself down to two. One is a fresh apple scent and the other vanilla. I will save the apple for spring time and make my way through the vanilla. Once that is done watch out Marshall’s, I am coming for some DW candles!

Now taking a gander through my moisturizing empties, I have 3 items to share:

  • The Body Shop Mango Body Butter

Part of the original Project 10 Pan, I am happy that this is empty. The body butter is moisturizing, I however prefer not to feel so greasy. I use it mostly before bed and would end up sticking to my sheets. Yuck!

  • Josie Maran Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil

I do not mind this thick oil on dry spots like my elbows. This was part of the Josie Maran box set that I ordered from Sephora last year. Even though I liked it, I don’t see myself repurchasing this, it is so expensive!

  • EOS lip balm from the Rachel Roy holiday 2014 collection

I really liked the fruity flavour of this balm. I was sad to see it go. I do have a handful of other lip balms to work through before I consider buying anymore.

My tea collection seems to empty as quickly as I fill it. This month I emptied a whole can.

  • Forever Nuts by David’s Tea

This is some neat tea that turns the water a deep pink. The flavour is boring in my mind but that is okay – sometimes I want a boring nut flavoured tea.

Reaching into my empties bag, the next thing I pull out is a cleaning item. Because of that, that is our next category.

  • Bath & Body Works Caribbean Escape Gentle Foaming Hand Soap

A refreshing scent for a soap, I enjoy foaming soap and tend to buy these in bulk when they are on sale. I would definitely repurchase this scent again if it is available next time I restock.

  • Gillette Satin Care for Sensitive Skin Shave Gel with Aloe Vera

This poor container has been collecting dust for who knows how long. After I finished my last canister of Olay shave gel I knew that I needed to use up this one. Now that it is gone I am back to using Olay.

  • Laura Mercier Flawless Skin face polish sample

This stuff was alright. The scent reminded me of sunscreen but it was a good scrub. Even though I liked it, I do prefer the St. Ives apricot scrub which is also much cheaper.

  • Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous White Mouth Wash

I bought this thinking that it would make my toothpaste and white strips work better magically. Guess what! It didn’t. My mouth did feel clean afterwards which was nice. It definitely was not useless. I am not a giant mouth wash fanatic so should probably stop buying it.

Last but really not least are my beauty empties. Shall we dive in?

  • Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

This stuff ain’t so bad. The smell is pleasant but I don’t imagine that I would repurchase it just because of that. I have a travel size can that I am working through now. I may try Batiste next if it happen to be on sale. I also like the Dove dry shampoo.

  • L’Oreal True Match Foundation in n2 (classic ivory)

I do not mind this foundation but I prefer the old infallible formula. This colour was a touch too light but n3 is a touch dark. I was mixing them but got tired of doing that pretty quickly. If you can find a colour that works for you then great, I recommend this, but otherwise find something that matches your natural colour.

  • Benefit Stay Don’t Stray mini

When I have wanted my eyeshadow to be more vibrant than just a wash, this worked wonders. I have had this tiny bottle for over two years. If I got another miniature I would use it but I won’t rush out to buy the full size, it would go bad before I finished it.

  • Prada Candy rollerball

If you followed my 1st Project 10 Pan, I talked about how I was getting tired of this scent. It was not a bad scent but there are other things out there that I prefer.

  • The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Pore Minimizer foil pack

I used this as a primer one day this month and it definitely made my pores appear smaller. I quite liked it and may even buy a container on day (once I am done my other sample primers).

I am not going to lie, I enjoy emptying out this bag. It is a sense of accomplishment which I look forward to anytime that something goes into it. Now to look forward to October’s post!
